Murano Millifiori of Italy - A Stunning field of daisies and roses in a sea of blue with a crystal clear "sky" above. These beautiful vintage paperweights are perfect for bringing in Springtime! Each one has a unique floral pattern inside a clear glass sphere. Vintage Murano & Perthshire Glass Paperweights plus 2 others with Floral Designs The horse figure is caught in mid-turn and mid-cry, an engrossing study of movement. Light and color within seem to shift with the gaze, a property of neodymium oxide in the glass that makes it absorb colors of different spectrums according to different lighting conditions (i.e., lilac in natural sunlight, smoky blue in fluorescent/white light). This sculpture is 6" high x 7" long x 3" deep and is fused to a 3.5" square glass base.

Signoretto, who a memorial article states was "one of the most famous and widely hailed glass masters in the world," began making chandeliers at 10, achieved the title of maestro artist at 16, apprenticed with great masters like Alfredo Barbini, and eventually opened his own studio and collaborated with artists like Salvatore Dali, Kiki Smith, and Jeff Koons. An original label designates it as Murano glass, made in Laguna, Venice, Italy. This glowing neodymium (alexandrite) glass horse sculpture was crafted by Pino Signoretto (1944-2017) in Venice and is hand-signed on the bottom by the artist.
